Hailing from Helsinki in Finland, the country with the most metal bands per capita, creating world-class extreme metal is quite literally in their blood. Their strong lyrical themes of occultism, death and horror will delight and engross you, and their latest offering Beyond Death perfectly displays the vast sonic arsenal they have at their disposal. Formed in 2012, the band’s sound can be described as heavily inspired by filthy old-school death and black metal from the 80s and 90s with an edgy, punk rock / crust attitude.
As an already well-established name in the tenacious Helsinki underground scene, Church of the Dead are ready to break free from their subterranean dwellings and ascend to conquer Europe, and their second full-length album Beyond Death arms them with a very potent weapon in order to do just that.
